Press release: MATERIÁL + TREND 2024 Conference
The second edition of the MATERIÁL + TREND conference, organized by the Czech Furniture Cluster, took place on Thursday, April 11, as part of the Design Shaker fair. Attendees enjoyed 10 expert lectures focused on current trends and material developments in the field of interior design.
Well-known Scandinavian trend hunter Stefan Nilsson came from Sweden to present the latest color trend palettes. Another international expert, Judith van Vliet, discussed how to create so-called color cards – trend palettes, demonstrating her work on Trevira color cards. The third international guest was Federica Scanu, who spoke about innovative materials and surfaces for furniture production, showcasing materials from the Italian brand Cleaf.
Trends in bathrooms were also discussed. Designer Iva Bastlová introduced this topic, and Simona Lašáková from Keraservis talked about trend materials in bathroom design. The topic of colors was also approached from a different angle, focusing on coatings and their properties. Ondřej Livora from Vitex and Jakub Moravec from the Czech painting company Mocusu covered this area in their presentations. Klára Soukupová from AGC Glass presented the use of glass in interiors as a sustainable material. The use of various modern materials in production was shown by father and son Procháskoví from the company U Pilouse, who had outfitted the new showroom for the Blum brand.
A very educational presentation was given by Jan Kopřiva, who opened the topic of placing and selecting plants in interiors, while design manager Milan Vrbík from the Brno design studio Design Atak talked about communication between clients and designers, as well as the trends related to this topic.
The event was attended by over 200 interior designers and architects. The official announcement of the Czech Interior Award followed.
