At the Salone del Mobile in Milan, two dedicated halls are reserved for Salone del Bagno, showcasing bathroom furniture and sanitary fixtures. It’s important to note that ceramic tiles are not part of this exhibition, as they are instead featured at the Cersaie fair in Bologna.

Trends and Innovations Observed by the Czech Furniture Cluster:

Bathroom furniture at Salone del Bagno closely mirrors the aesthetic trends seen in living room and kitchen furniture. This applies to both shapes and materials, as well as color schemes. A significant portion of bathroom vanities features rounded edges, similar to sideboards and tables in living spaces. On these vanities are rounded sinks, either mounted on countertops or fully integrated. Above the vanity, mirrors are a must-have element, typically paired with LED lighting. These mirrors are often rounded or entirely circular in shape.

A noteworthy design detail observed on many cabinet fronts is linear milling, which appeared both on lacquered surfaces in solid colors and on wood-effect finishes. Handles on bathroom furniture are highly minimized. Instead, they are replaced with recessed grooves, rails, or handle-less fittings. Many vanities are wall-mounted, while others feature bold and distinctive bases.

The color palette in bathroom furniture echoes the trends seen in the main Salone del Mobile halls. Light and dark wood finishes, warm terracotta shades, and cool blue-green tones are prominent. Stone-like textures, often featured on sinks and full cabinets, add a luxurious and elegant feel. These designs require careful coordination of materials to ensure harmony, particularly in smaller spaces. Lighter-colored furniture surfaces are rarely seen, with white appearing solely in sanitary fixtures—and even there, it is less dominant than in the past.

Sanitary fixtures have embraced a broader spectrum of colors over the past two years, moving away from the traditional white—a shift that may surprise some Czech clients. Sinks are now available in a wide range of shades, including neutral beige-gray tones, pastel pinks, blues, and yellows, as well as muted reds, greens, and blues.

For faucets, the options have expanded to include not only a variety of colors and metallic finishes but also innovative designs. A standout trend is the use of glass handles, which exude luxury and originality, much like the stone-textured furniture pieces.

In summary, while no groundbreaking trends emerged from this year’s Salone del Bagno, the emphasis on refined aesthetics and materials continues to enhance the luxurious feel of modern bathrooms. We look forward to future editions, hoping for even more exciting innovations to surprise and inspire!
